Nuclear DisarmamentOne focus of The Peace Foundation's work is nuclear disarmament - the proposed dismantling of nuclear weapons. Work on disarmament is undertaken by the Disarmament Committee and The Peace Foundation Disarmament and Security Centre (DSC), based in Christchurch, which focuses on disarmament education through the promotion of exhibitions in museums, libraries, universities, polytechnics and schools and the implementation of Peace City projects with the Christchurch City Council . It has organised photographic exhibitions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Gandhi and depleted uranium. It has produced an exhibition for museums to mark the 20th anniversary of New Zealand's nuclear free legislation and the history of the World Court Project. The DSC researches alternative security thinking on nuclear deterrence doctrine; non-provocative, non-nuclear regional security policies; and regional peacemaking initiatives. Its books and papers on peace and disarmament issues are available from its website www.disarmsecure.org Contact Christchurch: PO Box 8390
